That magical time is here again, where the soda and pizza get consumed by the ton and millions of people all over this country find the friend with the best television screen and buy tons of snack food, only to watch spellbound for 3 hours as the greatest single sporting event of the year passes before our eyes. We sit, stand, jump up, scream, holler, and yell at the screen as individual players and whole teams make football history or fail miserably in front of the entire nation. From the President in the White House to the average college student, football becomes (for one evening) the great equalizer. There are some who watch strictly for the commercials, the single most expensive thirty seconds of fame in world history, but they are a minority of the spectators. For most people, the game itself is the meat of the evening while the advertisements of monkeys in offices, or hot Tabasco sauce babes, are a mere side dish.

This years match up between the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts promises to be one of the best in many years. Running up against the Bears defense has been like hitting a rock wall for the last few months while Patton Manning has one of the best throwing arms in the game. Who can say or predict exactly what will happen?

Tickets for the game are selling at almost unbelievable rates with a $3,345 price tag on even the worst seats in the house for viewing the game. That is the equivalent of a semesters worth of schooling at LSSU!

So this weekend, run to the store, grab a bag of pretzels, (or chips or popcorn or whatever you want, you dont have to be picky) and some drinkage, kick your room mate off the X-box for a couple of hours, and watch the game, or just come to Peacock Cove and join Activities Board for free food and prizes and watch the game on the Big Screen! I am cheering for Chicago personally but who knows what will happen. At least Princes wardrobe shouldnt malfunction. Come on everybody shake off that winter gloom and enjoy, its the Superbowl!
