The movie Flyboys, coming to stores on Tuesday January 30, depicts the tumultuous times of World War One, the first time in history the skies became a battlefield with men darting across in a new invention, the airplane!

This is a great movie with lots of action scenes and some very cool graphics.

It tells the story of a squadron of American volunteers who sail to France in the beginning days of World War I in order to fly against the Germans in an ever increasing air war over the muddy trenches where the fighting had almost reached a stalemate.

It tells the story of the incredible ordeal they had learning to fly in a war zone and how their inexperience often cost them their lives against much more capable veteran German pilots.

I do not want to spoil the movie for those who have not seen it but I will tell the history buff out there to expect a very accurate portrayal of air-war in the early 20th Century! Although some of the planes shown actually came into the war a little later then is depicted in the movie, it is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen. You will see the very training techniques actually used by World War I pilots, as well as some sweet acrobatics and maneuvers that even todays planes find hard to match, all as it really was!

In one scene the allied fighters take on a German Zeppelin, and the graphics department treats us to one of the coolest air explosions since Stealth.

In all I would give this movie four out of four stars for great historical accuracy and a genuine wonder of entertainment! Rock on Flyboys!
