The Student Government Election Forum was held on Wednesday, September 27 in the Cisler Center. The forum was held by the Judiciary Board as a way for students to meet the candidates; however, only seven of the candidates and very few students were in attendance. Members of The Judiciary Board asked each candidate a number of questions about their views concerning Student Government and then allowed the audience to ask their own questions. This allowed a wide range of topics to be discussed and enabled the candidates to let their personalities shine.

John Petkus was the first candidate to speak. He is a junior studying Political Science and Pre-Law. He was the President of Student Government at his old school and he believes that Student Government should be the facilitator and mediator between the administration and students.

Mark Rockwick is a Fire Science major in his senior year who is interested in Student Government as a way to give back to the community. He plans to bring his charisma to Student Government, even offering to take a bullet for Dr. Youngblood. He wants to bring Student Government to the people and to put Dr. Youngblood on her toes. We pay the bills; we should have what we want.

Ashley Brawning is a freshman Political Science/Pre-Law major who believes that Student Government and other student organizations should work together, promoting students. She wants to make a difference by ensuring that other students have a good time.

Tori Rowley is a freshman Secondary Education/Math major. He wants students to know that hell benefit Student Government because he has an open ear and is open to suggestions. He wants to be remembered for making a difference in student participation and awareness.

Eric Ciarkowski served on Student Government last year and hes also active in Activities Board and the Investment Club. He plans to be a walking advertisement for Student Government and doesnt want to be remembered for an event, but wants to leave a group of leaders to continue Student Government after he graduates.

Mark Kaiser is a senior Political Science major who also served on Student Government last year. He wants students to know that he is committed to Student Government this year and that he has goals that will keep him involved.

Mike Chevalier is yet another Political Science/Pre-Law major. He believes hell be a benefit to students because he listens to everyones concerns and will do his best to try and fix those. He understands Student Governments purpose to be one that translates students wants and needs into a better understanding for administration.

Voting for this years Student Government representatives will take place Monday, October 2 through Friday, October 6 at vote.lssu.edu
