Well it was National Tutoring week this week. National Tutoring week is when schools, colleges and private institutions gave thanks to those who take time to help others. They can do this in any number of ways. Some have made special survival kits where they give their tutors snacks, logo gear and maybe some inspirational quotes.

Our Learning Center has hosted countless students who have asked for help. There are between fifty and fifty-five students who are tutors for the Learning Center, whose subjects range from basic Math to advanced Chemistry, Psychology, Computer Science and Engineering. All tutors are current students who have achieved a B or higher in the course they tutor. Through all the hard work they put into helping fellow students the Learning Center wants to thank all their tutors on the excellent job they are doing.

The Learning Center is expressing their appreciation by holding activities throughout the week, such as a Whos the Baby contest where they match the tutors baby pictures and the contestant with the correct answers will win a prize. They are encouraging students to send their tutor a thank you card and the Learning Center is having a celebration on October 20th from noon to one to honor their top-dog tutors where they will serve hotdogs, so they want students to come down enjoy a dog or two with the Learning Center staff.

The Learning Center is open all week long from 8am-9pm and Friday from 8am-5pm. Sunday they are open from 5pm-9pm. So pick up a card and a pen write a note to your tutor and tell them thank you for their help. If it was not for these dedicated students, there would not be any tutors, so show your tutor some appreciation this week.
