Dear Editor:

In these past years of change in societal roles between men and women, it seems that men often dont know exactly what is expected of them in relation to women in general. I am so glad to be part of a campus community where men, young and old, hold doors open for me. This has not always been true. I have been on campuses where some men would let a door slam in my face without a thought it seems. Chivalry is not dead here, however. Perhaps it never was, or maybe it was just sleeping for a short time.

Men, keep up the good courtesy, and women, lets not forget to thank them when they do an act of kindness. That might be the only way they will be able to define their roles for the future. We want kindness wherever it can be found.
