Down To The Wire: Cardinals VS Lakers

On Wednesday, February 14, in Mens basketball, the Saginaw Cardinals and LSSU Lakers faced off in a on the edge of your seat game. The Lakers were fighting to claim to victory after their previous loss to the Cardinals, who won with a twelve point lead on February 3.
Even though Lake State (8-17 overall, 5-11 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic College) trailed closely behind the Cardinals (10-12 overall, 7-8 GLIAC) during the entire game, they were unable to score one more basket to tie up the score in the final seconds.In the end, the score was 63-60 with the Cardinals as the victors. 
The game began intensely as the Cardinals scored the first shot of the game with a three-pointer, however, the Lakers followed up with their own three-pointer seconds later.
SVSU shot in two three-pointers, one after another, securing a nine point lead, 52-43, in the last half of the game.
The Lakers closed that distance as Ryan Kuhl sunk in a three-point, shortly followed up by Mark Morse, with a jumper and hacking down the Cardinals lead to 54-50 with four minutes left in the game.
With a minute and five seconds remaining, VanOudheusden of LSSU brought us closer to the Cardinals lead of 57-55.However, Dorian Pierce, of SVSU, responded with two free throws at 39 seconds.
At fourteen seconds, VanOudhesuden again cut SVSUs lead to 61-58 and also grabbed the rebound after the Cardinals missed the front end of a one-and-one a second later.Lakers Morse and Cardinals Pierce proceeded to trade free throws in the last ten seconds of the game.With four seconds remaining, the Lakers attempted a game-tying shot, but failed to make it as the buzzer rang.
