Rocky Balboa

Sylvester Stallone returns to one of the most well-known film franchises in history as Rocky Balboa. The film takes place years after Rocky V. Rocky has since retired from boxing and has opened a restaurant which is named in memory of his dead wife Adrians. People from all over New York come to eat and hear his stories.

The current World Champion, Mason 'The Line' Dixon (Antonio Tarver), is not a fan of the managers who have basically had his boxing career spoon-fed to him. Dixons only opponents in the ring are those who stand no chance against him.

In the near future, ESPN hold virtual boxing matches. They take boxers who could never compete against each other in real life and throw them into the ring. Due to the unpopularity of Mason Dixon, they choose a fighter they know America lovesRocky! After a brutal fight in the virtual ring, Rocky Balboa is declared the winner.

After seeing the match for himself, Rocky decides to register for a boxing license so he could fight in small local matches. However, Mason Dixon decides to challenge Rocky in an exhibition match to boost the sales of his tickets.

Never having seen the previous Rocky movies, I went to see Rocky Balboa with very low expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised! While the movie moves rather slowly during the first half of the film, it really picks up after that.

The movie was entertaining and well worth the money I paid to see it. If youve got nothing to do or are a fan of the series, go see Rocky Balboa. And for those of you out there wondering, yes--it still has the theme song!
