A More Poignant Pizza Party
Kenny Casperson

At 7PM last Thursday, students gathered for Pizza with the President. The gathering was organized by the LSSU Political Science club, and students fought to keep the pizzas coming and asked whatever was on their mind of Dr. Youngblood, LSSUs President. Questions ranged from requests to live in the Galley because perhaps Brady is just that bad to questions about future developments such as the slated demolition of South Hall, and the construction of the planned School of Business in its place. No timeline has been set as yet for the new construction, and will not be at least not until funding approval comes down from the state after that an estimated 2.5 million will still need to be raised. Another request from a student was for a 24 hour computer lab. If this interests you, keep an eye out for a petition that may be circling, or start your own the President responded that if students show interest in this, allowances and plans can be made. Students made requests for initiatives to boost LSSUs low Greek involvement, expressed concerns about the amount of cursing to be heard around and a demand for pepperoni to reclaim its place in the QDs lasagna.
I think events like this are highly important, says Amanda Burmeister, the VP of the LSSU Political Science club, at a larger university, opportunities to speak openly with the school administration this way are unheard of. Doctor Youngblood echoed the sentiment and wanted to remind students that Its important to contact the administration if you see a problem. We cant address concerns that we dont know exist.
The President also indicated that for a donation of one million dollars, the new School of Buisiness building could be named after you Time to break those piggybanks, Lakers!
