The snow if finally here, covering the green frozen terra firma of our beloved campus and students are wondering what they are going to do now. If Halo 2 has lost the beauty and grace you once saw in it or the various pool halls on campus dont seem to glimmer anymore, maybe you should consider getting out.
The Norris Center and Housing offer a variety of winter equipment. Housing offers cross country skis and various camping gear for those of you who enjoy winter camping, and the Norris Center offers snowshoes to take you to places you could have never gone with out them well at least without breaking a sweat.
Snowshoeing and cross country skiing not your thing? Maybe youre more of a free spirit and enjoy the wind in your face and the snow flying by. Every year Lake State takes students on a trip to Searchmont; located thirty miles north of Sault, Michigan it offers snowboarders and downhill skiers the thrill and adrenaline of a real mountain and offers those lodge bunnies a warm and comfortable place to relax.
If youre thinking that Searchmont may be too active for you, have you considered attending the upcoming I-500? Near campus it isnt far away to join in the fun. Located next to the Highway and behind H-lot its a sure thing to get your winter spirit soaring. Conceived back in 1969 looking at a Chevrolet Camaro, the I-500 has certainly changed the makeup of the Sault and is definitely worth going to.
So whether you wish to get out and run around in the snow, conquer a Canadian Mountain or enjoy some heritage of your beloved Lake State know this, there is always something to do in the Sault, you just need to look for it.
