Dear: Lake State Students

Hey everyone, Im writing this letter to thank everyone for the amazing years I have had at LSSU. So many people have touched my life and have given me so much in the past 3 years up here, and I want to thank everyone for that.
In the past 3 years I have become very active in Lake State and I would not change any of it if I had the chance. I have met so many people and become close with so many of the faculty and the staff. This past week I have had to make a decision and resign from my positions on Inter Greek Council as Programming Chair, Presidents Council as Financing Chair and as Chair of Sigma Lambda Sigma Service Sorority. The reason I have had to step down is due to the fact I was offered a nursing job in Juneau, Alaska on the Alaskan Cruise Line. I applied for this position back in September and have gone through a lot of interview processes. Finally I got the call the first of January telling me I was offered the job. I never thought it would be possible knowing the one dream I have always had in life was to travel to Alaska. I will be finishing up a few of the classes that I have left up here in the next month and I will be leaving Lake State around the first of March. I will start my job on March 14th I will leave port in Seattle WA. I will be out there until December of 2007. Then I plan to come back to MI to attend a program for a Surgical Technology for one year. The cruise line has offered me to stay working for them after the line in Alaska shuts down for the winter, so I could transfer to the Caribbean and work on the ships down there, but I have to be able to make sure I can make it through the summer first. Im looking forward to spending my last month at Lake State and watching as some new students take over my positions that I have carried in the past years. I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope everyone will someday have the chance to see their dreams unfold in front of them. I hope as you read this you will remember what college brings to you. Try to get involved up here the college has so much to offer to so many people and so many of our clubs and activates are suffering for new students right now. Going Greek was one of the best decisions that ever made in my life; the lasting friendships that I have made will be something that I will hold in my heart forever and have kept me going up here. There are so many people out there would love to help you get more involved and if you cant find some you are always welcome to drop me a message on facebook I would love to help point you in the right direction.
I look forward to making this move and I hope to be able to see everyone before I take off. And I would like to thank the faculty and staff and other students that helped make this possible for me. I know I would not be here without any of you. Good Luck to everyone and keep in touch and let me know how things go in the years to come. I will always be a Laker at Heart.

Good Luck,

Mollie Hogg
