Lately the news has been full of untimely deaths. Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, was killed by an animal which was tame in comparison to those which he wrestled on his TV show week after week. This week marked the five-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center which took the lives of a confirmed 2973 people, including 343 New York City Firefighters, 23 New York City Police Officers, and 37 Port Authority Officers. As this is being written, details are coming in about a shooting at Dawson College in Montreal, where four are believed dead and up to 16 injured.
We at the Compass would like to take a moment to remember everybody who dies before they should. We would also suggest that everybody lives life to the fullest. Dont put off until tomorrow things that you can do today. Dont commit to do the same thing next summer you did this summer until you look at all the possibilities; you might find something which works better, such as studying abroad, or an internship, or a better job. Life is never predictable, so keep your eyes open for the things which may not be obvious otherwise.
