Hello-

My parents recently received the Bud and Mary Mansfield award at LSSU for the year. They were really proud of this accomplishment. If this is such an honor for our parents to receive, then why isn't it publicized more around campus? I didn't see any coverage in it in the newspaper, although it was really great to see how kids carve pumpkins on the front page of last weeks. Who taught them to carve those pumpkins? THEIR PARENTS. I would really like to see an article regarding this event, especially for students to know that the award even exists and there is more competition for it in the future around campus. Thanks for your time,

The Parents of the Year Award was covered in Issue 3 (September 29th, 2006) of The Compass (http://compass.lssu.edu/content/view/306/29/)on page 4 while nominations were still open. Great Lake State Week/Weekend was a busy time for our staff, and so some events were not covered. We try our best to cover everything which is going on, but this is not always possible.
