Despite a familiar cast of characters, the LSSU Recruitment DVD fails to impress. Many of the effects are documentaryesque, with panning photographs, interviews, and photoshopped backdrops. At several points in the movie, actors break out into a foreign language with no subtitles. Several scenes came close to making the viewer feel seasick, with video of waves playing in the background behind speakers. The movie tended to be biased towards the summer season, and did not adequately reflect the true weather situation. The winter days shown were all sunny. The dialog was sketchy, actors using words such as neat and cool. The movie also discriminated against Canadians, pointing out all of their (albeit obvious) differences. Several fictional things were covered, such as dog-sledding and underwater hockey. Upon further investigation, it is found that almost all of the students interviewed are active in various aspects of Student Life at the University. The Beacon of Cultural Events has been a disappointment, with limited resources available to students because of the space crunch. Continuity errors abound, such as the student who is observing in a classroom, yet helping out with students at the same time.
