The Wonderfulness of Facebook

The Facebook Cheer (cheered to Paul, Paul, Hes our man, if he cant do it, no one can!)

Facebook!

Facebook!

Its da bomb.

If it doesnt tell it,

nothing can!

We here at The Compass enjoy the new Facebook. We find that it makes our job a lot easier. For one thing we can find the proper spelling of names and also contact information if we need to get a hold of other students. It also gives us entertainment for hours and hours when we have serious writers block (Hint: this is why we are writing an Our View about Facebook.) So really Lake State students are our inspiration. Not only is this beneficial to us in The Compass office, but also to our every day life.

Facebook connects us to friends we use to go to elementary school with and also people we have not talked to or seen, in what seems like forever. Compared to MySpace, it is easier to search for your friends and there are also less creepy, stalking type people on facebook, and you also have better privacy control settings available.

Facebook can also help with classes. If you accidentally oversleep, or if you are sick and cannot make it to class, by knowing other students on facebook, it allows you contact them and get a copy of the notes, or find out what you missed.

Also, if you are completely bored and have nothing to do, you can always check out facebook and the events listed and 99.99% of the time, there will be something listed that you can participate in. (OR, you can always check out The Compass under the Campus Events and more than likely you will find something there).

Lets face it; we know you spend hours upon hours looking at everybodys relationship changes, new photos, new notes, status changes, and other life changing occurrences.

Come on, who does not look to see who has joined which group and who has posted on whose wall? Thus, the Facebook feed has made our lives so much simpler, especially with our hectic schedules. Everything you ever needed, wanted, or did not want to know is now conveniently located on the homepage.
