Project Description
Our project is focused around “Graph Abstraction of Information”. We are developing a model to encapsulate information on a given topic to a “card”, similar to trading card. We plan to create a system that allows users to own, trade and contribute to these cards. We will combine the information collected into a Graph abstraction that we present to the user, utilizing several visual mechanisms.
Weekly Log
- Week 1:
- I moved to Rutgers and met my other four team members on Sunday. On Monday, I attended the orientation. After talking to our mentor on the following day, we agreed that a good prototype for our model would be a "card" platform and we would first build it centered on the World Cup. We have decided to create a Java applet with the Graphic functionality as we need and hope to accomplish. We have set our task in such a way that we will be able to reuse most of our efforts for future use. On Friday, we gave the first presentation about our project.
- Week 2:
- This week, I worked mostly on the Java applet for the World Cup. Since the World Cup is about to start, we have a very less time to write and implement our code. I spent most of the time working on the User Interface section and refining the Graph abstraction part of my project. I also spent a lot of my time learning about Swing and Graph Stream in Java. By the end of the week, we hope to have most of our World Cup project ready. I plan to work on the weekend to make the code fully functional and make sure it is bug free.
