Project Description
I will be working with Dr. Alexander Schliep on developing a suffix tree algorithm animation. Suffix trees are a useful data structure in bioinformatics because they can answer different types of questions about patterns (matching, repeats, etc.) rather efficiently. Specifically, suffix trees are often used in genome sequencing. I will be using python and GATO to implement my animation for the construction of these trees. If time permits, I may study other aspects of bioinformatic algorithms.
