Research Log

Week 1 - I met with my advisor, got to know him a bit, and we began to discuss the overall trajectory of the generalized inspection problem. I read a few research reports, the foundation for my work during this REU (See the references section). I also began some preliminary MATLAB work, mostly figuring out how to plot ROCs. I also set up this website.

Week 2 - I worked some more to read and understand what has been done already and tried to extend some of the concepts in terms the detection of more than one substance. I also prepared the following powerpoint presentation. View Generalized Inspection Policies in Powerpoint.
